The history of "Il Presidente"

Il Presidente (the president) finds his roots in the oldest ice cream shop in the town of Renazzo: the "Bar of Science" (also popular with the name of the old owner Amintore). The funny historical name comes from the extremely animated "intellectual" conversations that numerous characters from Renazzo used to entertain for hours in the shop.
In 1985, two brothers, Daniel (Deni) and Mark, acquired the business from Mr. Amintore and begun the story of the great Presidente.
In 1986, Deni remodeled the shop and a year later re-opened to the customers with a completely new image. The place became soon the key meeting point for the young people in Renazzo and the best ice cream shop in the area.
In 2001, Deni decided to sell the Bar portion of the business and exclusively dedicate himself to the production of homemade ice cream.
In fact, in June 2002, the new ice cream store Il Presidente opened its doors.

Curious facts

The name Il Presidente relates to the position that the owner Deni used to hold in the P.V.R (Partito Varnizzi Renazzo; untranslatable ... Varnizzi = dialect for unmarried men). Deni was in fact the president (position that he obviously had to resign in 1995 when he married Sabina).

During the years Il Presidente covered an important role in Renazzo and often sponsored events and associations. Today Il Presidente is the official sponsor of the Veloclub "Rata dei Maronari" (untranslatable ... visit Deni for explanation :-).
